Obituary of Ronda Iski
Ronda Michelle Iski was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on May 20, 1963. She was one of three children, a daughter, born from the union of Steven George Iski and Valerie Jean (Thomas) Iski Waske. Ronda was baptized into the Catholic faith and also received her first communion there. She attended Lincoln Park High School graduating with the Class of 1981.
Ronda loved the outdoors. For more than seventeen years she was employed as an ironworker. She worked hard in all types of conditions to support herself and family. She was a proud member of the Detroit Local 426 now known as Local 25. She took a medical retirement in 2000.
Ronda had a passion for life and a pure love for others. She happily embraced a Hippie life style and loved rock and roll. Ronda was well known for her kind and generous ways; she was well loved by her family. A joy to be around, her life continuously revolved around her two children.
Ronda enjoyed spending time with her father and their pastime was digging in the garden. She loved yellow flowers and daffodils being her favorite. Ronda loved the warmth of the sun and lying out to catch a tan. Ronda held tight to her faith throughout her lengthy illness often receiving strength from reciting the rosary.
Ronda Michelle Iski, age 51 of Newport passed away at 11:03pm, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family.
To cherish her memory she leaves two children: Parker Joseph Iski and Sydney Rae Iski both of Newport; her father and stepmother: Steven and Linda Iski of Newport; her mother and stepfather: Valerie and Lawrence Waske of Lincoln Park; one brother: Steven Roland Iski of Lincoln Park; one sister: Renee Marie (John) Zinner of Newport; three stepbrothers: Paul (Toni) Severinski of Woodhaven, Patrick (Ali) Severinski of Newport, and Philip (Corrie) Severinski of Monroe; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. A private memorial service is being planned for a later date. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
