Betty Ann Niemi was born in Marquette, Michigan on February 13, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Edward Niemi and the late Pearl (Sipila) Niemi. She was a 1961 graduate of Mather High School in Chatam, Michigan. Following graduation, Betty moved from Marquette to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She would later make her way back to Flat Rock, Michigan in 1972. She would meet the love of her life Danny Marlow. They would exchange vows on December 30, 1991 in Toledo, Ohio and make their home in Carleton. Betty was a strong willed individual. She knew what she wanted out of life and she was goal oriented. Betty loved the comfort of her home where she enjoyed spending time with her beloved cats. She also liked to read books, coupon, and write letters. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling. She especially enjoyed visiting new places with her husband. Once an avid bowler, Betty appreciated the dedication required and willingly spent the time needed to perfect her game. Betty Ann Marlow, age 71 of Carleton, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at home. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a twin brother: William Niemi. To cherish her memory, Betty leaves her loving husband of twenty-three years: Danny Marlow of Carleton; one stepdaughter: Julie Marlow of Erie, Michigan; two stepsons: Mike (Shannalyn) Marlow of Temperance, Michigan and Randy(Sonya) Marlow of Monroe, Michigan; one brother: Les(Marcia) Niemi; and five beloved step grandchildren: Austin, Joshua, Jacob, Dane and Addyson. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan.
