Zoetta Ring
April 29, 1926 -July 2, 2014
Zoetta Adams was born on April 29, 1926 in Waverly Hall, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Minnie (Giddins) Adams.
She married the love of her life, Calvin Ring. From this union the couple would raise two beautiful daughters and, Zoetta would take on the responsibility of being a homemaker. Zoetta was a gifted cook and she was well known for her excellent skills in the kitchen. She loved to spend time with her family always looking forward to the next family function or holiday. Being a great host, Zoetta enjoyed cooking up her family's favorite meals.
Zoetta enjoyed the company of others and she was very social. She was the President of the Fantastic 10 club. She had a passion for travel and she had visited many places with her club, traveled several times to visit New Jersey and spend time at the boardwalk there, and tagged along on several family cruises. When Zoetta wasn't traveling, she loved to spend time in her garden where she planted lovely flowers and harvested vegetables.
Zoetta Ring, age 88, of Newport passed away at 7:00pm, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her home. She had been under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her loving husband: Calvin Ring on October 7, 1993; one sister: Ola Jordan; and one grandson: Manuel Harris on April 25, 2014.
To cherish her memory she leaves two loving daughters: Vanessie (Alvin) Brian of Southfield, Michigan and Jocelyn (Micheal) Meadows of Newport, Michigan; a granddaughter: Cameron Brian; and two great grandchildren: Serena and Chyan Harris.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 11:00am on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am also at Merkle's with Elder John Brian officiating. A memorial luncheon will follow for all of those in attendance. Graveside services will take place at 1:30pm, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Westlawn Cemetery in Wayne, Michigan.
