Robert Douglas Madden was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 28, 1957. He was one of three children born from the union of the late Roy Clifford Madden and the late Patricia (Beard) Madden. After moving from Detroit in 1986, Robert made his home in Monroe with his loving wife of 28 years, Catherine (West) Madden. They were married on December 19, 1986 at the Justice of Peace in Livonia, Michigan and from this union would come the birth of three wonderful sons.
Robert was a hard worker, supporting his family as a security officer over thirty years, most recently at Huron Valley Steel. He was a loving husband and an awesome father always placing family first, cherishing every moment spent with them. He was known to be a generous man, helping anyone in need. Although Robert kept quiet most of the time he could get a crowd rolling with his famous one liners.
As an avid sports fan, Robert played baseball and football in his younger years and he has always enjoyed watching his favorite sport teams on television. Physical fitness and health was very important to Robert. He enjoyed exercising and evenings out bowling with friends. In his quiet times, Robert appreciated a good movie on his new found love, Netflix.
Robert Douglas Madden, age 57, of Monroe passed away at 6:47am on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe surrounded by his loving family. His passing was preceded by his parents: Roy Clifford Madden and Patricia (Beard) Madden.
To cherish his memory he leaves his wife of twenty-eight years, Catherine; three children: Robert Douglas Madden II of Monroe, Jonathan Lee Madden of Monroe, and Michael Allen Madden of North Carolina; and two sisters: Vickie (James) Farmer and Debbie (Terry) Zabawa.
