Jacqueline Ann Kashmer was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 22, 1937. She was one of six children born from the union of the late Joseph L. Kashmer and Jane (Kwatich) Kashmer. Jacqueline attended Catholic Central High School in Toledo graduating with the Class of 1959.
Jacqueline married the love her life, Richard P. Korte on June 10, 1960 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Toledo. From this union would come the birth of three children. Jacqueline supported her family as a farmer and homemaker.
Jacqueline was a loving and caring woman that took her role as a wife and mother very seriously. She cherished the time spent with her family, always looking forward to sharing home cooked meals and conversations. Jacqueline was very attentive to the needs of others, and she enjoyed giving with a big heart and open arms. She often put others before herself.
Jacqueline was very outgoing and social. She enjoyed the outdoors; gardening, mowing the grass, and loved farming, Jacqueline had a special relationship with Richard and for many years the couple shared the dance floor together.
Jacqueline A. Korte, age 76, of Dundee passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014 with her loving family at her side under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to her parents: Joseph and Jane Kashmer her passing was preceded by two brothers: Joseph Jr. and John Kashmer.
To cherish her memory she leaves her husband of nearly fifty-four years: Richard P. Korte of Dundee; three children: Rena D'Haene of Monroe, Rhonda (Shannon) Witte of Erie, and Richard D. Korte of Temperance; two sisters: Jane Lovejoy and her identical twin Janice Iott; one brother: James Kashmar; five grandchildren: Nicole D'Haene, Colleen D'Haene, Austin Witte, Carson Witte and Corbin Witte.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070 (formerly Bennett Funeral Services). She will lie-in-state from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 127 North Monroe Street. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
