Obituary of Paul Williams

Paul Eugene Williams was born in Monroe, Michigan on October 29, 1957. He was one of six children born from the union of the late David E. Williams and Vera (Meyers) Williams. Paul attended Jefferson Schools graduating from high school with the Class of 1975.
Following high school, Paul took employment with the Chrysler Corporation. He would work as a Job Setter supporting his family there for twenty-eight years until his retirement. He married the love of his life, the former Vickie Young, on May 6, 1989. Together the couple would raise their three children on the family farm.
Paul was a sweet and loving man. He was a wonderful father and husband always placing family first. Paul treasured the time he spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a great provider for his family, but in fact was willing to help anyone that was in need.
Paul led by example and was a hard worker. He also believed in getting things done swiftly. Paul had an adventurous spirit. He loved the outdoors; enjoying fishing and hunting. Paul was also an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Paul never failed to make his wife feel special.
Paul Eugene Williams, age 56, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit surrounded by his loving family. In addition to his father: David D. Williams his passing was preceded by a brother: David Williams; and a nephew: Luke Pillarelli.
To cherish his memory he leaves his wife of twenty-five years, Vickie; three children: Regina (Patrick) Johnson of Monroe, April Turner of Newport, and Aaron Williams of Monroe; four sisters: Rebecca McCarty, Esther (John) Ball, Rachel (Robert) James and Martha (Rick) Pillarelli all of Monroe; nine grandchildren: Deanna, Shelby, Austin, Sheldon, Taylor, Carli, Liv, Michael and Madison; and four great grandchildren: Stephon, Cameron, Deliney and Ty'sean.
Friends may gather from 1:00-7:00pm, Monday, June 9, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's with Reverend Gary Pickerell, Associate Pastor of Monroe Full Gospel Church officiating, and special music provided by Lori Adams. Following cremation, Paul, will return back to his beloved farm and family.
