Jack Harold Vincent was born on January 22, 1920 in Monroe, Michigan. Jack was the son of the late John Vincent and the late Lena (Sheets) Vincent. He attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1940 graduate of Monroe High School. He married Anna Boden on November 18, 1952 in Bryan, Ohio.
In 1963 Jack purchased the Monroe Coin Machine Shop. Jack performed sales and service on Juke boxes and video games for many years. He enjoyed his work and especially enjoyed the freedom of being self-employed. Anna stated that Jack had a special touch when it came to his work; "Jack was a doctor to those machines".
Jack shared many experiences with his two brothers: Russell "Buck" Vincent (Pat) of Monroe and Theodore Vincent of Sylvania. He also had various nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher. He was a past member of the Eagles, Moose, and of the VFW. Jack will be remembered most as a great man with a gentle personality and the resolve and toughness to see a project through.
Jack Harold Vincent age 89, of Carleton passed away at 7:45am; Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Tendercare of Monroe. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his sister-in-law: Mildred "Millie" Vincent.
Private family services were held Monday, June 1, 2009 with Pastor James Jacobs Director of Chaplaincy Services for Mercy Memorial Hospital officiating. Procession followed to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for entombment. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements.
