Obituary of Lori Sue Reed-Deuby

Lori Sue Reed was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 2, 1959.   She was one of five children born from the union of Robert Theodore Reed and Germaine Maryanne (Gaynier) Reed-Jondro.   She was educated at St. Charles Catholic Grade School and graduated in 1977 from Jefferson High School.

Lori was a hard worker and at the age of 16 took a position with her uncle’s company in the janitorial supply industry.   Little did she know at that time, that she would spend her entire working career in the same industry, with her last employer being Ferguson Industries.   She quickly earned the respect of her employers, customers, and even competitors.

Lori married Richard Deuby on September 2, 2006.  Although she never had children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews implicitly, and was immensely proud of her step-family as well.   She was a fabulous cook and her glorified rice was delightful.

Lori was a caregiver at heart, she loved others unconditionally and always had a warm and inviting smile.   She was overly generous, selfless, and giving.   She loved social events, get-togethers, and parties.   Lori was the first person to offer a helping hand, the first to arrive, the last to leave, and in between the hardest worker in the room.   She made sure that everybody else around her was taken care of.   A devout Catholic she was an active member of Our Lady of the Woods in Woodhaven for many years.  She was also a life member of the Swan Boat Club where she was instrumental in planning parties and functions.

Lori Sue Deuby, age 63, of New Boston passed away at the Arbor Hospice Residence in Saline on Friday; June 10, 2022.  Her passing was preceded by her parents; husband:  Richard in May of 2016; and a stepson.

To cherish her memory she leaves two sisters:  Amy Kowalinski of Sylvania and Jody (Paul) Fritz of Ontario, Canada; two brothers:  Tim (Deb) Reed of Monroe and Eric (Dawn) Reed of Ann Arbor; Richard's five children including Mary (Paul) Pickell of Houghton Lake, Michigan with whom she was especially close; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews which she loved as her own; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren that she cherished.
