Rosella Margie Mexicotte was born in Monroe, Michigan August 29, 1940. She was the only child born from the union of the late James Mexicotte and Rose (Jonas) Mexicotte. Rosella attended Lincoln School in Monroe. She married the love of her life, Richard D. Trouten on July 24, 1961 in Monroe, Michigan. Rosella and her husband regularly attended Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Erie, Michigan. Rosella spent her days as a homemaker and raising her four wonderful children. Her family was always very important to her and the center focus of her world. Rosella spent many days cooking for her family and for their many get-togethers. She was always there for everyone, but was never afraid to say what she thought about things. Rosella would give the shirt off her back to help another. Rosella was well-known for her feistiness. She was energetic and always on the go. Rosella spent many days volunteering for the Damascus House, Salvation Army, and Goodwill. To keep busy, Rosella spent much time straightening up used clothing stores as a sort of hobby, and enjoyed fishing and lawn work. Rosella Margie Trouten age 73 of LaSalle, Michigan passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Her passing was preceded by her parents. To cherish her memory she leaves a loving husband of fifty-two years: Richard D. Trouten of LaSalle; four children: Roger (Carolyn Trouten) Trouten of Caryville, Tennessee, Beverly (Walter Keck) Trouten-Keck of Monroe, Rich (Melissa Underwood) Trouten, and David Trouten of Monroe; ten grandchildren: Nicole (David) Walker, Alisha (Chris) Dolby, Heather(Aaron) Wilson, Crystal Keck, David(Laura) Fisher, Russell Campbell III, Dakota Campbell, Corey Campbell, Lacrisha Romanowski, and David L. Trouten II ; eleven great grandchildren: Jennivyn, Kenzi, Braxton, Grayston, Zakkary, Jacob, Brileigh, Nolan, Blaize, Caden and Avaira. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Monday, April 7, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734)384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place also at Merkle's at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 with the Reverend Roy Southerland pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Procession will follow to LaSalle Township Cemetery for the final committal.
