Dorothy Wesney

Obituary of Dorothy Susanne Wesney

Dorothy Susanne Lytten was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 1, 1958. She was one of three children born to Luther Lytten and Helena Maynard. Sue graduated from Minford High School in Minford, Ohio with the Class of 1976. Later that same year, on November 2nd, she wed Gregory Wesney in Portsmouth. The couple was blessed with a son and two daughters and enjoyed forty-five years of marriage.   She loved children and devoted her life to caring for her home and family.

Sue's vibrant and “groovy” nature made every day, and every Fiasco, an adventure.  She was a mother to 3, but was a second mom to so many, and found so much joy in helping all kids feel safe and loved.  Sue enjoyed tending to her flower garden and bird watching in her yard. She spent quiet moments engrossed in romance novels. She loved celebrating holidays and decorated her home inside and out for every occasion.  Sue valued quality time, and understood the importance of occasional late night video game binges, even on school nights.  She was an extraordinary woman who gave gifts early, cursed Pac-Man ghosts, and mastered the moonwalk. Her family will carry on her favorite traditions, such as baking cut out cookies, and are bonded together through her love. She will be greatly missed.
