Obituary of Jeanette Patterson
Jeanette Welch was born in Monroe, Michigan on April 18, 1929. She was the oldest of eight children born from the union of Amon Welch and Virgie Viola (Patton) Welch. She attended Lincoln School through the eighth grade.
Jeanette married the love of her life, Hobert Lee Patterson on August 28, 1948 at home in Monroe. They were blessed with the birth of one son: H. Lee Patterson Jr. Jeanette cared for the needs of her family as a homemaker. The couple had an extremely close relationship and where one went the other was always right behind.
The family worshipped at Monroe Free Methodist Church. Jeanette was very active in the church serving in many capacities for many years from Sunday School Teacher to overseeing the nursery. She loved to care for young children all the way down to the newborns. Jeanette also enjoyed helping all her family as she often babysat nieces and nephews. She seemed to love everyone, although she was extremely fond of her own kin.
Jeanette Patterson, age 93, of LaSalle passed away at home under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice on Saturday; April 23, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. Her passing was preceded by her parents; her beloved husband: Hobert on February 22, 2018; and six siblings: Beulah Reed, Elsie St. Bernard, Kenneth Welch, Dick Welch, and infants: Ulyllus and Ozetta Welch.
To cherish her memory she leaves one son: H. Lee Patterson Jr. of LaSalle; one sister: Eunice Shock of Monroe; two grandchildren: Brock (Kim) Patterson of LaSalle and Jason (Neiko) Rust of South Bend, Indiana; and four great grandchildren: Katie Patterson, Tyler Goda, Teagan Rust, and Theo Rust.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday; April 28, 2022 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday; April 29, 2022 also at Merkles with Pastor Brenda Jackson of Stewart Road Church of God officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
