Obituary of Samantha Emily Weems
Samantha Emily Weems was born at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan on April 1, 1996. She was the daughter of Jeffrey Franklin Weems and Melissa Anne (Domka) Weems.
As a young girl she was very active and participated in dance at Peg Harris Dance Studio. She was quite naturally coordinated loving Tahitian and Tap, and also practicing Ballet. In high school she remained athletic as a member of the volleyball and track teams. A beautiful person inside and out, Sam, was full of life and had an amazing smile. Her personality lent itself well to fostering many lifelong relationships with her friends from high school. She was a 2014 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School.
For the past four years she had shared her life with boyfriend, James Lucente. The couple spent practically all their time together as they also owned and operated a commercial painting company. Many times, Sam, would make contact with the customers first building rapport and then providing estimates.
Sam knew how to take care of herself and wouldn’t take grief from anyone. She also wasn’t afraid to tell someone how she felt. She enjoyed rap music and was a talented artist herself often posting videos online of herself performing. Sam enjoyed cooking, finding this passion as a young girl. She looked to the future and had hoped to attend culinary school one day. One of her best dishes was preparing collard greens.
