Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Florence Mildred Neumeyer Reinbolt, age 68 of Newport, MI passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Flo was born in Medina, Ohio on August 27, 1945. She was the only child born to the late Leo and Angela (Acker) Neumeyer.
Flo married the love of her life, Michael (Mike) Reinbolt, on May 7, 1966 in Medina. From their love came the birth of their daughter: Teresa (Teri). Flo attended Bowling Green State University where she earned her teaching degree and the University of Michigan where she earned her Master's Degree in Teaching.
For more than thirty years she was an educator for the Gibraltar School District. Following her retirement she returned, to her calling in life, as a teacher for the Riverview Co-op Preschool. There she helped shape the minds of 3 and 4 year olds for ten years. Flo was very active in the community. She served as the Secretary of the Michigan Reading Association, was Past President of the Rockwood JayCee's, and a member of the Gibraltar Teacher's Union.
Flo enjoyed traveling, reading a good book, chatting with friends and former students on the computer, and gardening. She was a Founding Consultant for Two Sisters Gourmet, which provided her the opportunity to combine two of her great passions, food and teaching.
Flo was a marvelous wife to Mike and an excellent mother to Teri. She was often considered a second mother and grandmother to her students. Flo was always a teacher and loyal friend to many.
To cherish her memory, Flo leaves her loving husband of nearly forty-eight years: Mike Reinbolt of Newport; her daughter: Teri and her husband Monte Chomos of Romulus; honorary grandson: Shane Mason Hueston; and honorary granddaughter: Kayli Marie Hueston.
She will lie in state from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 8109 Swan Creek Road in Newport. Friends are gathering to Celebrate Her Life on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Monroe Moose, 1320 North Macomb Street in Monroe from 1 pm to 6 pm.
