Violet married the love of her life, the late William V. Meek, and they shared thirty-seven years of married life together. From this union came the birth of two daughters and a son.

She was extremely devoted to her children and later in life the gift of grandchildren. She cherished the time that she spent with her family more than anything. For many years, Violet helped to support her family with employment at Toledo Scales and Howard Ternes Packaging where she worked in manufacturing.
