I did not know Mr. Neorr in life, but his obituary sure made him larger than life and someone I wish I had known. I have no doubt he will be missed greatly by his family and friends. His service to his community is appreciated, and the thoughtful and humorous obituary drafted by his loved ones brought this Toledo Blade reader (yes someone reads this rag) and her mom a belly full of laughter. People in my mom’s hometown will soon read all about Mr. Noerr as she insists I print copies to mail to her friends in La Center, Kentucky. Rest In Peace James Russell Noerr. May your journey in this lifetime bring eternal rest and rewards with our Heavenly Father. Monique Price, Toledo.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He lived next door to me my first year of college and then was my roommate for the most of the rest of my career at Central Michigan University. He and Mick came to visit me when I was in the hospital in 1965, just before he and Dea were getting married. I had to asked them to leave because I was laughing so hard from his cutups. Over the years I would stop and visit Jim and Dea in my back and forth trips from Florida to Michigan. Always enjoyable. Lots of good memories. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to read of Jim’s passing. The obituary was very interesting. Who is the author, or were there many? I always enjoyed our Habel reunions when Jim and Dea would usually be there. You have a lovely family and it sounds like you all enjoyed each other. Hope Jim doesn’t get in too much trouble in heaven! Seriously, I am really sorry he is no longer with us.i

I had the pleasure of working with Jim Neorr on several occasions when I worked at the Monroe County Planning Department. Jim was one of the funniest people I ever knew, and his obituary perfectly reflects that. Some may have thought that his humor was a bit naughty, but you just couldn’t help but to laugh at his ribald jokes, and you couldn’t help liking the guy. He was also dedicated to the betterment of his community through his job and his volunteer work. Jim will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

First off my sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Jim for 25 years at Environmental Health, hands down one of the best bosses I ever had. I never doubted he had my back in any situation. He always encouraged me to take on more responsibility, for that I am grateful. My career in environmental health was something I loved. He made coming to work fun. He was always ready to plan a luncheon, enjoy a birthday celebration or just shoot the shit. His laugh, handwriting and jokes will be something I will remember for always.
Peace to a life well lived. ✝️

Jim made working at Environmental Health fun… and I was proud he referred to me as one of his pit bulls! He made Monroe County a better place! Rest In Peace, Jim… cheers!

This so much sounds like the Jim I knew when I worked at Environmental Health. He was always a joy to be around.
