Obituary of Cynthia Ann Carroll-Presley

Cynthia Ann Day was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 14, 1953. She was the eldest of five children born from the union of William Roland Day and Ruth (Bruck) Day. She attended Monroe High School graduating with the Class of 1971. She would continue her education at Monroe County Community College studying bookkeeping obtaining an Associate’s Degree.

She began her thirty year career with the United States Postal Service in May of 1972. She would serve in several capacities before becoming the Clerk for the Postmaster at the Carleton office. She retired in 2003. For many years, Cindy, had stayed active by being employed at the Hobby Lobby store in Monroe.

She married Leonard Joseph Presley on February 18, 2000, although the two had been a couple since 1984. Cindy was extremely devoted to her marriage and partnership with Len. She often put his happiness in front of her own.

Cindy had a passion for her faith and her Lord. She valued regular studying of the word and was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. Cindy was always a positive force even when she herself had poor and declining health she was an encouragement to those around her. She was loving and giving, unconditional and generous. Cindy made it her mission to send out cards to many people to commemorate their special events.

She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Womens Auxillary and a Charter Member of the Carleton American Legion Ladies Auxillary Unit 66. Cindy enjoyed making jewelry and crafts, and loved to read books.

She was extremely fond of her nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. She loved family gatherings and especially Christmas, when she donned her favorite Santa hat to pass out gifts to all the attendees.

Cynthia Ann Carroll-Presley, age 68, of Monroe passed away on Saturday; February 26, 2022 at Beaumont Hospital, Trenton. Her passing was preceded by her parents; a stillborn baby brother: Jonathan Day in October of 1966; mother and father-in-law: Joyce E. Benner and Donald R. Presley along with many of her cats and one beautiful dog Ace.

To cherish her memory she leaves her beloved husband of twenty-one years: Leonard Joseph Presley of Monroe; Denise (Donny) Marcero of Carleton; two brothers: William "Willie" Day of Carleton and Joe (Jennifer) Day of Monroe; six nieces and nephews: Donny (Katie) Marcero Jr., Josh (Heather) Day, Andee Green, Jon (Erin) Marcero, Melissa (Joe) Dettling, and Jason Day (Zoe); ten great nieces and nephews: Dylan, Brayden, Aidan, Madeline, Sarah, Jacob, Molly, Sean, Zachary "Red", Hailey and Emily; Len’s stepmother: Norma Presley; and numerous extended family members and her prayer warriors in Westvalia, Michigan.

Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday; March 1, 2022 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 10:00am on Wednesday; March 2, 2022 also at Merkles with Pastor Roy Southerland officiating. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock for entombment.
