Obituary of Peggie Bevins
Please share a memory of Peggie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peggie Tanner was born June 29, 1939 in Houston County, Tennessee. She was the second of twelve children born to George Tanner and Estelle (Baggett) Tanner.
Peggie married James P. Wade and together they raised six children: Donald Wayne Coleman of Florida, Cheryl (Richard) Garibay of New Boston, Caroline (Will) MacMullin of Ida, Pamela Everts (Mike Robinson) of Detroit, and Patsy Webster and Priscilla (Dwayne) Smith both of Tennessee; from these children, Peggie was blessed with an amazing legacy of twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
James passed away on Christmas Day in 1995. After James' passing, Peggie married Wade Bevins. Wade passed away on May 19, 2002.
Peggie could often be found challenging herself with word searches, jig saw puzzles, or playing games on her computer. She also had a passion for music. She enjoyed listening to her sister, Susa's sweet voice, and country and Christian music on the
stereo. She would often dance around her home to the beat. As a young woman trips to the Don Poloski Hall in Detroit were common for bingo as were frequent shopping excursions.
Peggie became a born again Christian and the North Monroe Street Church of God was her church home. Her favorite selection was that of Amazing Grace.
She also shared memories with her siblings: Loyal (Kathy) Tanner of TN, Betty Sutton of Trenton, Susa (Larry) Studdard of Newport, Roger (Irene) Tanner of Carleton, Guery (Sandy) Tanner of Trenton, Linda Gale Murphy of Southgate, Algienon Tanner of Romulus, David (Kathy) Tanner of Maybee, Eddie (Kay) Tanner of Brownstown, Brenda (Joe) Villareal of Woodhaven, and Gloria (Ed) Lane of New Boston.
Peggie Nell Bevins, age 69, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Savior on Sunday afternoon. Her loving family was at her side.
