Obituary of Eric Michael Brown
Eric Michael Brown was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 12, 1978. He was the oldest of two boys born from the union of Charles Richard "Rick" Brown and Cheryl "Cheri" Ann (Bates) Brown U'Ran. He was educated in the Monroe School District graduating from Monroe High School in 1996. Eric was blessed with the gift of music. While in high school he served as the Drum Major of the Marching Band for two years and as the Assistant for one year. He played the Saxophone, Piano, and Guitar. He seemed to be able to do it all. Eric was a member of the Concert, Marching, and Jazz Bands. He would continue his education at Monroe County Community College.
For most of his working career, Eric, was in retail management. While still in high school he took a position with Joe Lake Tire quickly assuming a management position. He later worked for Murrays, and with hard work and dedication earned the respect of those around him and was once again noticed by upper management. Most recently in March of 2021 he had taken a position as a Utility Locator Technician with USIC.
He married the love of his life the former Jennifer Renee Holbrook on October 28, 2012. The couple moved to Grass Lake in 2019 to make their home. They faithfully attended Grace Church in Jackson.
Eric was very intuitive when he got an idea he ran with it. He loved to tinker on cars and work with wood, imagining, designing, and creating unique and useful pieces of furniture. Eric could literally fix anything. He was proud of his two boats and a truck that he kept operating.
Eric was also quite fond of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and he was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He loved to cook, grill, and use the smoker. He enjoyed life and staying busy. Eric was very loving, kind-hearted, and playful with a great sense of humor. He was always generous with his time and knowledge. He never said no and was always willing to help someone else in need.
Eric Michael Brown, age 43, of Grass Lake formerly of Monroe passed away on Monday; November 22, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson surrounded by his family.
To cherish his memory he leaves his beloved wife: Jennifer Renee Brown of Grass Lake; his parents: Charles (Patricia) Richard "Rick" Brown of Monroe and Cheryl "Cheri" Ann U'Ran (Bates) of LaSalle; a daughter: Hailey of Grass Lake; a son: Alexander of Grand Ledge; a stepdaughter: Alayna Ingall of Jackson; a stepson: Tyler Ingall of Hillsdale; a brother: Christopher (Jennifer) Brown of Monroe; two half sisters: Sarah Brown and Megan Adams both of Monroe; two half brothers: Shaun Brown of Mesa, Arizona and Kyle Brown of Monroe; his maternal grandmother: Betty Bates of Monroe; his paternal grandmother: Barbara Brown of LaSalle; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday; November 28, 2021 and from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am on Monday; November 29, 2021 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 11:00am led by Pastor James Walling of Grace Church in Jackson. He will be whisked by a custom, Harley Davidson motorcycle hearse in procession to Roselawn Memorial Park where burial will take place.
