Obituary of Wanda M Koch
Wanda M. Koch passed away at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday; October 30, 2021. She was the daughter of Linvel I. and Ida (Lynch) Meyers. Wanda was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee on August 31, 1932 and came to Monroe, Michigan at the age of 2. She graduated in 1950 from Monroe High School and married George Lovell that same year. Wanda had two sons from that marriage, Douglas S. Lovell of LaSalle, Michigan and Roger M. Lovell of Adrian, Michigan. While living in Michigan she was employed at Monroe Country Club and La-Z-Boy Chair Company.
She married Victor H. Peles in 1975 and moved to Reading, Pennsylvania that year. In 1981, she opened and was sole owner and proprietor of “The Wishing Well Gift Shop” located at Fairgrounds Square when it opened. Mr. Peles died in 1988 and Wanda sold the store and retired in 1995.
She married James Koch in Strausstown, Pennsylvania in 1996. He passed on July 9, 2017. She was an avid past member of Victory Baptist Church and also Hamburg Bible Church. She was a lifetime member of Heidelberg Country Club.
Wanda leaves behind her sons: Douglas (Polly) Lovell and Roger Lovell; one sister: Mrs. Wayne (Lorene) Pope; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren to mourn her loss.
Her passing was preceded by her parents, three brothers: Leon Meyers, Linvel I. Myers Jr. and Calvin C. Meyers. Also, two sisters: Luverna Drummonds and Ruby I. Simmons.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday; November 4, 2021 at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor James Brown of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. She will lie-in-state on Monday; November 8, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm Faith Bible Baptist Church; 138 Maple Drive, Hamburg, Pennsylvania 19526. A Funeral Service Celebrating Her Life will take place at 12:00pm with Pastor Erich Schmidt and Pastor Richard Harris presiding. Procession will follow to Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Road, Fleetwood, Pennsylvania 19522 for burial.
