Obituary of Douglas Alfred Meade
Douglas Alfred Meade was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 31, 1969. He was one of four children born from the union of Clarence and Deidra (Wooton) Meade. The family moved to Monroe in 1974, where Doug would attend Jefferson Schools.
Doug worked many years at DCM Loudspeakers before they closed. He really enjoyed working there, as many of his friends from Monroe worked there also. It was his home away from home. Later he would find employment at Metal Improvement as a Line Worker, where he remained for eight years.
On July 19, 1997, Doug was joined in marriage with Vicki Lynn Ruiz at Faith Baptist Church in Monroe. The couple together were a whole. She completed him and he completed her. From this union, Doug proudly became a stepfather to her two beautiful daughters and “Papa” to their children. Anyone who witnessed Doug interacting with his grandbabies could instantly tell how proud he was to be their Papa and how much love he had for them. As they grew older, Doug continued to spoil them with any chance that he got and still insisted on cutting up their food for them as teenagers.
An avid sports fan, Doug watched all sports, including Nascar, but he looked forward to football season the most. He was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, yet he was still a loyal and dedicated fan to the Detroit Lions. During baseball season, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers play.
Doug was very skilled in shooting pool and did not hesitate to show off his dart throwing ability. He and Vicki had a friendly competition against each other.
Douglas Alfred Mead, age 51 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 18, 2021.
In addition to his passing, he was preceded by both his parents, his wife, Vicki, in 2011, a sister: Christine Meade, and a brother: Donald Meade.
