Obituary of Helen Victoria Toles
Helen Victoria Toles was born in Monroe, Michigan on October 1, 1935. She was a daughter, one of eight children from the union of the late Eddie Lee Toles and the late Anna Mae (Campbell) Toles. She attended Monroe Public Schools and Monroe High School.
Helen would be blessed with the birth of four children. She cared for the needs of these children as a homemaker. Helen loved being “domesticated”. She was an excellent cook, never following a recipe, and always preparing meals by the directions in her head and the taste in her mouth, usually when trying food she would use her favorite word, “Tasty”.
An avid reader, she had a lifelong love for learning. She also valued her freedom and fresh air often traveling her neighborhood to visit friends and even do her shopping by foot. Although, she was known to be quiet, Helen, had a wonderful sense of humor. She made friends easily but still enjoyed the quiet confines of her own home where she could watch her favorite shows of “Family Feud” hosted by Steve Harvey or Judge Judy. Helen loved college basketball and was a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers.
She had unconditional love for all her grandchildren, and for the past eight years, Helen had made her home with her granddaughter, Ranita.
