Obituary of Russell Eder

January 1, 1942- February 28, 2014 Russell John Eder was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 1, 1942. He was the son of the late Orland and Kathryn (Lowden) Eder. Russell was a graduate of Airport High School. He married the love of his life, the former Rose Dupont, in 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they would have four step children. Russell retired from Ford Motor Company as a supervisor in manufacturing after 38 years with the company. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of the American Legion. Russell was a loving brother and son. He loved the outdoors and would spend hours watching the wildlife on his property. Hunting and fishing were among his favorite hobbies. Russell also loved Mexican food and ice cream. Russell John Eder, age 72 of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his wife: Rose; a sister: Marcia McDonald; a brother: James Michael Eder, step-son-in-law: Lockard Jay Ervin. To cherish his memory, Russell leaves four stepchildren: Rhonda Ervin of Grayling, Letha (Bill) Keene of Milan, Thomas Dupont of Houston, Texas and Kevin Dupont of Grayling; five sisters: Laura (Louis) LaDuke of Newport, Sandra (Donald) Barton of Monroe, Janet (James) VanBuskirk of Carleton, Cheryl (John) Nation of Monroe and Charlene (Garry) Hall of Athens, Tennessee; two brothers: Richard (Cheryl) Eder of Monroe and William Eder of Newport; several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Friends may gather from 12:00pm until 3:00pm on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 3:00pm with Pastor Roy Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Memorials are suggested to Parkcliffe Alzheimer Community.
