Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Swanson
Mary Elizabeth Swanson was born on February 14, 1952 to Mary Donovan Engelhardt. She attended Libbey High School.
For more than thirty years, Mary, was employed by Rieter Automotive in Oregon, Ohio.
Mary had a marvelous personality. She had a passion for life always living it to the fullest. She was an avid fan of Motown records. She loved listening to Motown music and going to concerts. Her favorite artist was Barry White although her passion led her to sneaking into the memorial service for Aretha Franklin.
Mary enjoyed crocheting and knitting blankets for her family and newborns. She especially loved to spend time with her family and considered herself blessed by her grandchildren.
Mary Elizabeth Swanson, age 69, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday; April 18, 2021. Her passing was preceded by her mother and a nephew.
To cherish her memory Mary leaves two sons: Leonard (Tanisha) Swanson of New York City, New York and Robert Swanson of Toledo, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers: Robert (Lori) Engelhardt and John (Vickie) Engelhardt; and three sisters: Carol Greff, Leeann (Daniel) Helvey, and Alice (Jim) Bartolet; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather for a Worship Service Celebrating Her Life at 1:00pm on Saturday; April 24, 2021 at First Alliance Church, 2201 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604. Pastor Roy Southerland will officiate.
