Obituary of Danny Ray Ayers
Danny Ray Ayers was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 2, 1957. He was born from the union of the late C.M. Ayers and the late Helen (Fidler) Ayers and raised in a home with five other siblings.
He provided for himself for many years as a truck driver. Danny loved the freedom of the open road. He would retire in 2010.
Danny was a kind and generous soul. For many years he saved his returnable bottles and cans and happily donated the deposits received to local food banks, helping to provide hundreds of meals to those less fortunate. He was truly a selfless individual never seeking recognition for his good deeds. Danny would be there in a heartbeat for anyone, but never asked for a handout or favor in return. He checked in on his sister and “best friend”, Margaret, every single day. Danny took care of her every need, ensuring her prescriptions were refilled and she had a fully stocked refrigerator. He would even make a special trip to the grocery store if she had a particular craving. Danny also enjoyed spending time with his other siblings and especially looked forward to deer hunting on his brother’s property in Hillsdale, Michigan each Fall. His Chihuahua, “Sassy”, his consummate companion, was always along for the ride. Danny treated his dogs like people, ensuring they had comfortable accommodations at home and in the car, daily walks, and plenty of treats.
Danny Ray Ayers, age 63, of Monroe, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, April 15, 2021. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by two brothers: Tony Ayers and Jimmy Ayers; one sister: Ruth Ann Way; and canine companions: “Boots” and “Salty”.
To cherish his memory he leaves two sisters: Juanita (Eugene) Kemeza of Cadillac, Michigan and Margaret Henderson of Newport, Michigan along with many nieces and nephews.
