Obituary of Kenneth George Treiber
Kenneth George Trieber, age 93, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio.
He was born on May 31, 1927 in Norway, the son of the late John and Leontine (VerMuellen) Treiber. Ken served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He married the former, Elizabeth Wojtysiak, on December 30, 1950 at St. Ladislaus Church in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Ken supported his family with employment for the Chrysler Company serving at the Trenton Engine Plant for thirty-one years before retiring in 1980. He loved being with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, working on cars, trucks and tractors.
To cherish his memory, Ken leaves his beloved wife of almost seventy years: Elizabeth; son: Damian Treiber; four daughters: Ruth (Gradon) Wilds, Joyce (Charles) Oestrike, Marcia Jones (Paul) and MaryBeth (Glenn) Smith; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers: Gordon (Karen) Treiber and Donald (Phyllis) Treiber; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a sister: Marlene Burnette.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Norway. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Norway with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis presiding. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
