Obituary of Hargus Ellison

Hargus Buster Ellison was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on May 5, 1951. He was one of twelve children from the union of the late Bruce Ellison and the late Georgia (Daniels) Ellison. Hargus was an awesome mechanic for many years, very skilled in his trade. He worked hard to support his family who was most important to him. When Hargus wasn't tinkering with cars, he could be found in open waters with a fishing pole in hand. This pastime of his was enjoyed with the presence of his children and grandchildren. Hargus was laid back and easy going, never hesitating to help others. He could be always be counted on by anyone who needed him. When Hargus made up his mind about something there was no changing it. Hargus Buster Ellison, age 62 of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Toledo Hospital. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by two brothers: Harry Ellison and Jasper Ellison. To cherish his memory, Hargus leaves his beloved daughters: Julie Ellison of Monroe and Amanda Ellison of Georgia; four sisters: Jessie Ellison, Carol (Mike) Wellman, Lena Barnicks all of Indiana, and Jawyone Gibson of Georgia; five brothers: Randall Ellison of Monroe, Leslie Ellison of Dundee, Perry (Janis) Ellison of Maybee, Elvis Ellison and George Ellison both of Monroe; eight grandchildren: Jessika, Brandon, Nicholas, Ryan, Jennifer, Haley, Kayley and Ashley; and one great-grandson: Jordon. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service 14567 South Dixie Hwy, (734) 241-7070 (formerly Bennett Funeral Services). A Celebration of His Life will be at 11:00am on Monday, January 13, 2014 also at Merkle's, with Pastor Kenny Spain, Associate Pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
