Jeannine Frances Navarre was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 19, 1936. She was the only daughter born from the union of the late Gilbert Navarre and Ruth (Bassett) Navarre. Jeannine married the love of her life, Clyde Hood Jr. on August 12, 1954. From this union would come the birth of three children. Jeannine was very family oriented, always putting her husband and children first, and supported them as a homemaker. She was very sweet and loving, and had a great sense of humor. Later in life, Jeannine obtained her Associate's Degree as a Nurse's Aide and worked several years for Beach Nursing Home. Jeannine was blessed with the gift of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and cherished the time she spent with them. For many years, Jeannine and Clyde made their home in Monroe until Clyde's retirement and then moved to Georgia for more than twenty years. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her Channel 7 soap operas of which she was a big fan. She also enjoyed traveling with her senior groups to the casinos. Jeannine Frances Hood, age 77 of Monroe, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at home. She was preceded by her parents and grandparents. To cherish her memory, Jeannine leaves her loving husband of fifty-nine years: Clyde Hood Jr.; a son: Clyde Hood III of Temperance; two daughters: Giselle (David) Bauhaus of Temperance and Loretta (Bill) Swinkey of Monroe; five grandchildren: Christy Hamrick, Samantha (Vincent) Luwizh, Michael (Amber) Swinkey, Ashley Nash, and Theodore Nash Jr.; five great-grandchildren: Madisyn, Ahlyvia, Serenity, Makenna, and Talen. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
