Kathrine Mary Branchaeu was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 11, 1960. She was the daughter of the late Randall James Brancheau and Eunice (Gaynier) Brancheau. Kathrine attended Jefferson High School where she earned her Diploma. She received her spiritual nourishment at St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport. Kathrine was a very smart woman who liked to express herself and her opinions. Growing up on the horse farm, she learned the discipline she needed to develop into a hard worker. In the recent years, she supported herself as an Auto Transporter for Cordin Transport for several years. Kathrine's true passion was to ride and train horses. She received many awards barrel racing. Kathrine appreciated the outdoors, often traveling throughout the country and to Mexico. She enjoyed collecting rocks and was very knowledgeable of interesting facts about each one. Kathrine had a creative side to her, making crafts and holiday decorations. Her talents shined through her awards she received in home economics including cooking and canning. Kathrine Mary Brancheau, age 53 of Rockwood, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013 unexpectedly at home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a sister: Judy; three brothers: Chuck Brancheau, Paul "Mick" Brancheau, and Dan Brancheau. To cherish her memory, Kathrine leaves a son: Roger (Tiffany Stephens) Sey II and two grandchildren: Alexandria Sey and Coleton Sey of Newport; five sisters: Ann Owens and Janice (Mark) Bak of Monroe, Ruth (David) Santo of Riverview, Barbara Flemming of Newport, and Margaret Nelles of Stoney Point; three brothers: Jim (Linda) Brancheau of Newport, Arthur (Sue) Brancheau of Newport and Jerry (Sharon) Brancheau of Newport. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Joseph Byrd of Stewart Road Church of God officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
