John Patrick Egan
March 13, 1948 – May 21, 2020
John Patrick Egan was born March 13, 1948 in Trenton, Michigan. He was one of two children from the union of John Edward and Sylvia (Longhway) Egan.
John proudly served our country in the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. John would later meet Beverly (Hollis) and on July 2, 1971, they would marry. Together they would be blessed with two sons.
For the past eight years, John would keep busy working on his train table, from a assortment of N-Gauge trains he started collecting recently.
John thoroughly enjoyed gathering with his retired friends from the Milan Federal Prison for “retirement breakfast” meetings every Friday before he became too ill to attend.
In addition to his passing, he is preceded by his parents: Edward and Sylvia Egan; one son: Robert Egan; one sister: Mary Egan and one stepsister: Joan Roe.
To cherish his memory, John leaves a wife of forty nine years: Beverly Egan; one son: Patrick (Sarah) Egan; one brother in law: Robert Roe; two grandchildren: Makayla Egan and Carter Egan; and also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to current social gathering restrictions, no public services are planned at this time. Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with his arrangements. Interment Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock.
