Paul Graybill, Jr.

Obituary of Paul Pollick Graybill, Jr.

Paul Pollick Graybill, Jr. was born in Maysville, Kentucky on July 15, 1942.   He was one of two children born from the union of the late Paul Pollick Graybill Sr. and the late Alberta (Hamilton) Graybill.   Paul would earn his GED while serving his country honorably in the United States Army from 1962-1968.   He obtained the rank of Sergeant while serving in Vietnam.

Paul was employed by the Ford Motor Company for many years.   An excellent provider for his family, he was well-respected by his fellow employees at the plant, rising to the position of electrician leader.   He would retire in 2002.

Paul married the former, Lois Butler, on October 16, 1991 at a small, country church in Evart, Michigan.   He was especially fond of the church because he passed it each time he visited his Northern Michigan cabin.   The cabin was his favorite destination for hunting and fishing.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and many memories were made around the pool table where there really were not winners and losers, just mostly ties.   He could often be seen on his travels with his trusty canine companion, a Chihuahua named Radar.

Paul enjoyed gardening and was in fact blessed with a green thumb.   He could grow tomatoes as big as softballs and sunflowers seven to eight feet tall.   He even had the uncanny ability to nurse a plant on the verge of death back to life.

Paul was known to be a real sweetheart.   He was well-known and extremely loved throughout the Monroe Community.   He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Dundee Sportsmen Club.

Paul Pollick Graybill, Jr., age 77, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton.  In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by a sister; a daughter:  Valerie Graybill; three brothers-in-law:  Lee Butler, Robert Burns Sr., and Jimmy Ball; and a nephew:  Robert “Booboo” Burns Jr.

To cherish his memory Paul leaves a beloved wife of twenty-eight years:  Lois Graybill of Monroe; two daughters:  Roberta (Mike) Adams and Barbara (Brandon) Bacome; two sons:  Bradley Graybill and David (Charlene) Barror; eighteen grandchildren; and his two close friends:  Clyde Fields and Darryle “Red” Stamper.

No public services are planned.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.
