Obituary of Antonia Marie Ferrante

 

Antonia Marie Ferrante was born in Trenton, Michigan on September 19, 1943.   She was the daughter of Anthony and Gwendolyn Ferrante. Toni was raised in a busy home with seven other siblings. Antonia or “Toni” as she became known attended Trenton High School.

 

As a young girl, Toni was surrounded by dogs. This quickly led to her own love for canine companionship.   She had a special place in her heart for the Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd breeds. Toni bred and showed both breeds at AKA shows.

 

 Antonia would be blessed with three children of her own. For many years, Antonia, supported herself in the automotive industry.   She was employed as a painter for General Motors.

 

Toni was smart and witty. She had a great sense of humor was funny and quite the prankster herself.   She loved to spend time with family and was especially fond of hanging with her sisters.   When the time came for grandchildren, Toni, spent as much time with them as possible and loved to take care of their needs. She loved to study genealogy and walk graveyards.

 

Blessed with a green thumb, Toni, cultivated her flowers. Toni also enjoyed canary breeding and completing crafts and cards. She liked to read with Westerns being her favorite topic and Gunsmoke was her favorite show.

 

Although, she was slowed with loss of her sight and incapacities due to health issues she never stopped being feisty or lost her toughness.

 

Antonia Marie Ferrante, age 76, of Carleton passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at her home. In addition to her father her passing was preceded by a brother:  Michael Ferrante.

 

To cherish her memory, Antonia leaves her mother: Gwendolyn Ferrante of Carleton; one son:  Thomas Pates of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, two daughters: Nicole (Orlando “Mike”) Rhea of Lincoln Park, Michigan Danni (Jeffrey) Jacks of White Lake, Michigan;; two sisters:  Pamela Pates and Mary Majtyka; four brothers:  Pete Ferrante, Stephen Ferrante, Paul Ferrante, and Charles Ferrante; eight grandchildren: Antonio, Cassandra, Thomas , Niko, Savannah, Michael, Christian, and Izak,; and four great grandchildren: Melohdy, Lyric ,Josephine and Lynette.

 

Private services have been held, and a public memorial service is being planned for the future, when social distancing restrictions have been lifted.  Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
