Obituary of Cody Nicholas Clayton

Cody Nicholas Clayton was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 5, 1994.   He was one of three children born from the union of Delbert E. Clayton and Lynn M. (Demski) Clayton.   He attended Cardinal Stritch High School graduating with the Class of 2013.

Cody was very compassionate and had a heart of gold.   Helping others was always most important to Cody.   He didn’t like confrontation but would take responsibility without batting an eye if it meant easing someone else’s burden.   He also had a great sense of humor and was funny without even trying.

Cody had worked at Mr. Spotts in Bowling Green while attending college.   He enjoyed being outside and had fallen in love with the Wood County Parks where he had completed an internship.   He was currently pursuing a degree in Visual Communications Technology at Bowling Green State University.   Cody was looking forward to starting his last internship on February 3 and his eventual graduation in May of 2020.

A die-hard Detroit Pistons fan Cody also liked to follow the Ohio State Buckeyes and was an avid follower of WWE Wrestling.   He loved music of all types and liked to hone his golf skills whenever he had the time.   For many years, Cody had looked forward to vacationing with Mackinac Island being his favorite destination.

Cody Nicholas Clayton, age 25 of Toledo passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.   His passing was preceded by his grandparents and a cousin:  Andrea.   Although, his untimely passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of those that loved him, he will be remembered by his Gift of Life to others by being an organ and tissue donor.

To cherish his memory he leaves his parents:  Delbert and Lynn Clayton of Toledo; a brother:  Casey (Lexi) Clayton of Cleveland; a sister:  Alexandrea Clayton of Toledo; many aunts; uncles; and cousins.
