Obituary of Robert Machol Bryant

Robert Machol Bryant was born in Speedwell, Tennessee on March 3, 1947.   He was the son of the late Robert Bryant and the late Melvina (Youkiem) Bryant.   Robert was a 1966 graduate of Erie Mason High School.   Following high school, he would join the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.

Robert would be blessed with the birth of three daughters.   For many years, he would provide for his family as a Railroad Conductor employed by the Grand Trunk Railroad in Flat Rock.

He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes.   Robert also loved to be on the water and spent much of his free time socializing with friends and family.   Although, Robert was laid back, he often kept to himself, and was quite friendly, generous, and helpful.   Robert, in fact never met a stranger.   He enjoyed socializing at the Monroe Moose and Detroit Beach Boat Club where he was a member.

Robert was especially fond of family.   He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and he looked forward to Thanksgiving and Easter gatherings with those he loved.

Robert Machol Bryant, age 72, of Erie passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31, 2020.   In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a daughter:  Julie Breitner; a brother:  Hobert Bryant; and a sister:  Brenda Kopmanis.   Although, his untimely passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of those that loved him, he will be remembered by his Gift of Life to others by being an organ and tissue donor.

To cherish his memory he leaves two daughters:  April Bryant (William Shirk) of Melbourne, Florida and Heather (Brian) Noland of Petersburg; a son-in-law: Matthew Breitner of Ida; four grandchildren:  Christian, Ellie, Elexys, and Hayden; two sisters:  Glenda “Sue” (Edward) Kelly and Barbara (Roger) Hardin; and one brother:  Jimmy Bryant.
