Eleanor Styles

Obituary of Eleanor G. Styles

Eleanor G. Stoltz was born in Maybee, Michigan, on April 21, 1939.   She was one of five children born from the union of the late George Stolz and the late Helen (Komanda) Stoltz.   She attended Monroe Schools graduating with the Class of 1957 from Monroe High School.

Eleanor married the late Richard A. Styles.  The couple would be blessed with the birth of two daughters:  Connie and Laurie.   For thirty-eight years, Rosie, would be employed in the Dairy Department of Kroger and Wrigleys Grocery Stores.   She took great pride in her work, and from this was given the nickname of “Dairy Queen” by her fellow co-workers.

Whenever Rosie wasn’t at work, she enjoyed spending time outside gardening and going for long walks in her neighborhood.   For many years, Eleanor and Richard enjoyed traveling to Florida regularly to visit family.

Rosie absolutely adored her one and only grandson Jacob.  The two were an inseparable pair and Rosie spoiled Jacob every chance she got.  While growing up, every Saturday night was spent together making special memories.   They often visited the mall, going to the movies, riding go karts, buying Pokemon cards, or just about anything else he wanted.

Eleanor G. Styles, age 80, of Newport, passed away at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital on January 8, 2020.  In addition to her parents and her beloved husband in 1993, her passing was preceded by a brother:  George Stoltz Jr.; a sister:  Helen Brooks; and the love of her life, her beloved dog Missy.

To cherish her memory, Eleanor leaves behind her two daughters:  Connie (Thomas) Klemz and Laurie (Mike) Ellison; one grandson:  Jacob (Jackie) Ellison; four great grandchildren: Nora, Aiden, Jacob and Grace; a brother:  Arttie Stoltz; and a sister:  Dorothy Magoon.
