Obituary of Donald Emmett Adams

Donald Emmett Adams was born October 5, 1949.  He was one of two children born from the union of the late Donald Adams and the late Marilyn (Murphy).   Donald was a 1968 graduate of Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan. He was a hard worker taking self-employment as a Housing and Urban Development Inspector. 

Donald mostly kept to himself and although he was set in his ways, he would eventually give to those who were willing to ask.  He genuinely cared for his family and taught them important life lessons.

In his younger years, Donald enjoyed playing softball and coaching his grandson’s baseball games. As a vegetarian, he appreciated the summer months planning and planting his vegetable garden into a productive plot and eating its’ fruits.  He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan attending the games and “tried to support” the Detroit Lions.  In his quiet time, Donald could be found watching his favorite movies or playing with his canine companions. 

Donald Emmett Adams, age 70, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 unexpectedly at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his daughter Julia; his step-children:  Jacqueline, John, Jack, Abdullah and David; sister:  Roxanne; nine grandchildren:  Matthew Jr.,  Allyssa, Shyanne, Madison, Izzy, Danyel, John and Tyler; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather from 2:00pm until a Celebration of Life at 4:00pm on Sunday January 19, 2020 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe 48162 (734)384-5185 with BJ McDaniel officiating.
