Obituary of Katherine Fern Walker

Katherine Fern Walker, 72, died November 30, 2019 at her home in Newport, Michigan after a short illness. She was born August 13, 1947 in Walnut Ridge to Raymond and Pauline (Capps) Walker, both deceased. Raised in Pocahontas, she entered the U.S. Army in 1965 and served for three years. Following military service, she made her home in Michigan where she worked in the nursing field for a number of years.

She is survived by seven siblings: Johnny R. Walker (Phyllis), Ronnie W. Walker (Sonya), Helen Shipley (Steve), Freda King, Shirley Thielemier, and Wanda Hoggard (Dennis), all of Pocahontas, and Gary Walker (Linda) of Walnut Ridge. Extended family include Pat Foster, Paula Launius, and Amanda Copper. She will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.

A private visitation service will be held at McNabb Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Chris Hoggard, Allen Thielemier, Gordon Thielemier, Jason Shipley, Samuel Walker, and Will Walker. Interment will be at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.
