Obituary of Charles William Morris
Charles William Morris was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 18, 1962. He was one of sixteen children born from the union of the late Charles W. and Clarabelle (Eckert) Morris.
For the past six years, Charles, had served as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Hidden Trails Apartment Complex. Being quite the handyman, he took a great deal of pride in his work. Charles liked to tinker with just about anything he could get his hands on and there really wasn’t anything he couldn’t figure out.
Chuck loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was very funny with a great sense of humor. He absolutely loved to camp anywhere and everywhere that he could. Fishing was also a favorite pastime of his, and he enjoyed dropping a line whether it be on the pier or while out riding around on his boat. When Chuck need to relax or clear his mind he enjoyed cruising the back roads with his wife.
Chuck shared his home with his four-legged companion: Gracie, whom he had a special place in his heart for. He married the former Susan Lesko on May 15, 2019. Chuck loved to cook and his favorite was steak. He liked to catch a good Sci-Fi program on television from time to time.
Charles William “Chuck” Morris, age 57, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by four sisters: Shirley Hoffman, June Jennings, Linda Heikkila, and Patricia Walker; and two brothers: Robert Morris and Larry Morris.
To cherish his memory, Chuck leaves his loving wife: Susan Morris of Monroe; step children: Jacob (Brittany) Favot and Angel Grodi; seven sisters: Joann Trouten of Monroe, Marylou (Brent) Gleed of Billings, Montana, Sally Eastes of Monroe, Barb Hardy of Monroe, Sandra (Ronald) Lavigne of Monroe, Penny (Robert) Hoffman of Carleton, Darlene (Roger) Jennings of Monroe; two brothers: Gary (Laura) Morris of Monroe and Ronald (Andrea) Morris of Monroe; and his faithful cat: Gracie.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s.
