Bill Centers

Obituary of Bill Centers

William Trenton Centers was born in West Hamlin, West Virginia on July 18, 1952.   He was one of four children born from the union of the late David and Thena (Dean) Centers.     He was a 1971 graduate of Taylor Center High School in Taylor, Michigan.

Bill would marry the love of his life, the former Carolyn “Sue” Gilliam on November 22, 1975, and the couple would be blessed with the birth of a son, Justin.   Bill was a hardworking man, providing for the needs of his family as an autobody technician.   He was employed at the Roush Corporation for more than twenty-five years.   Bill’s work with cars was truly a labor of love.   He appreciated all types of automobiles and hot rods.   He was also an avid NASCAR race fan.

Bill was extremely dependable and loving and the word “no” was not in his vocabulary when it came to helping others.   He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting the casino and traveling with Sue, or just hanging out with his two grandchildren.   Bill’s disposition seemed to always be happy.  He loved the company of others with his favorite pastime being that of cracking open an ice-cold beer while “shooting the bull” with family and friends.

In 1997, Bill and Sue would move to Monroe where they would make their home the past twenty-two years.

William Trenton “Bill” Centers, age 67, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.   In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his sister:  Joyce Diaz.

To cherish his memory, Bill leaves his beloved wife:  Carolyn “Sue” Centers of Monroe; his son:  Justin (Sarah) Centers of Temperance; two brothers: David (Janet) Centers of Rochester Hills  and Rick (Jan) Centers of Livonia; and two grandchildren:  Madison Kate Centers and Luke William Centers.
