Obituary of Donna Mae Price
Donna Mae Price was born in Britton, Michigan on September 25, 1927. She was the oldest of four children born from the union of the late Louis Price and the late Emma (Meyer) Price. She attended Dundee Community Schools and graduated from Dundee High School with the Class of 1946.
For more than thirty years, Donna served her fellow residents in Britton as a Librarian for the Lenawee County Library System. An avid reader herself, Donna, was extremely knowledgeable about many subjects. Although not blessed with her own children she loved her nieces and nephews as her own. She had a kind heart and enjoyed mentoring young people. She had served at Britton Elementary in this capacity as a Mentor for many years helping countless individuals over the years.
Donna was a devout Christian and had faithfully attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blissfield throughout her life, a congregation her own father had helped to start. She was also a member of the Ladies Circle at church.
Donna was known for stubbornness even though it was part of her charm. She had a green thumb and she loved to garden raising beautiful flowers in her yard.
Donna Mae Price, age 92, of Milan Township passed away at 10:50pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh. She had been under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a brother-in-law: Ray Lorenz and a sister-in-law: Debbie Price.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a sister: Dorothy Lorenz of Britton, Michigan; two brothers: Linford (Mary) Price of Milan Township, Michigan and Gerald Price of Britton; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street (734) 529-3156. She will lie in state on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 9:00am until a funeral service at 10:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 306 East Jefferson Street, Blissfield, Michigan 49228 with Pastor Gary Leking officiating. Graveside services will take place at 1:00pm at Lake Ridge Cemetery in Macon Township.
