Obituary of Patricia May Bratcher

Patricia May Brooks was born on September 16, 1940 in Monroe, Michigan.  She was the daughter of the late John Brooks and the late Caroline (Eby) Brooks blessed with a big family having ten other siblings.  Of the eleven children, Patricia was the fifth child, of which all were born inside of the family home.

Patricia was married to the love of her life, Gene Bratcher.  The couple would be fortunate to share in the birth of three children:  Troy, Peggy, and Phillip.   Patricia cared for the needs of her husband and children as a homemaker.   Over the years, she would also balance being employed outside the home performing various small jobs to help provide for the family. 

Patricia cherished the time she spent with family first and foremost.   When she had time to herself, she enjoyed completing puzzles and playing card games on her I-pad with solitaire and majong being two of her favorites.   Patricia also liked to keep up on her favorite television programs, whether it be her soap operas, the Waltons, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med to name a few.      

Patricia May Bratcher, age 79, a lifelong resident of Monroe passed away peacefully at 7:40am on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Wellspring Lutheran Services.  In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her beloved husband Gene Bratcher on December 26, 2012; three brothers:  George Brooks, Joe Brooks, and Carl Brooks; and two sisters:  Catherine Carr and Marie Brooks.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved children: Troy Bratcher, Peggy (Ryan) Evans and Phillip (Wendy) Bratcher; grandchildren: Chris (Shelley Jacobs) Bayer, Ryan Bayer and Faith Angel Bratcher; and siblings: Dottie Hoffer, Harry Brooks, Freddy Brooks, Marge Brooks and Bernie Brooks. 

Private services have been rendered, and no public services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
