John Charles Cicero was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 24, 1948. He was the son of the late August Joseph Cicero and the late Irene Caroline (Vargo) Cicero. He attended Monroe High School before enlisting in the United States Army and serving his country honorably from 1968-1970. He obtained the rank of SP4.
John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. He was an avid outdoorsman. John made the most of his time outside. He loved camping and spent many nights in his tent. He liked mushroom hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed hunting for deer, rabbit, and pheasant.
John was also was a skilled handyman. He could often be counted on to work on cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his sister: Helena. John was very laid back and he was easy to get along with. Those who knew him well warmly referred to him as Uncle John. John enjoyed listening to music and his favorites were oldies.
John Charles Cicero age 65 of Monroe passed away at 8:30pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Magnumcare of Monroe. He had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a brother: August Joseph Cicero.
To cherish his memory he leaves a daughter: Sonya; one brother: Robert August (Patricia) Cicero Sr. of Hale, Michigan, Linda (Jimmy) Worley of Monroe, Helena (Larry) Harmon of Monroe and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 11:00am, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070 (formerly Bennett Funeral Services). A service of remembrance will begin at 11:00am with Father William Fisher pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
