I was so sad to hear of Gary's passing. I taught with him for many years when he was the gym teacher at Hurd Rd. School. He brightened all of our days with his hilarious jokes and good humor. He will be sorely missed,

I am so saddened to hear of Mr. Boudries passing. He was such a brilliant and engaging educator with a natural talent for seeing his students potential. I accredit Mr. Boudrie with pushing me into what would be the most exciting and rewarding athletic career in my life, allowing me to pursue a college education that I otherwise might not have been able to afford. He saw me at the Jefferson Rec Center messing around on the diving boards, and nudged me towards diving coaches and swimming instructors that helped advance and push my skills to allow me to obtain athletic scholarships. I have him to thank for a lot of helpful morale boosting talks as well.
Rest In Peace Mr. Boudrie, from one of the many students you acted as an immensely positive force for!

Gary was a big man with a bigger heart. Although he loved to tease and kid around, I could always count on him to tell me the truth.
I was fortunate to know him for many years until I moved away from Monroe County. I was also an. English teacher, but I think I met him through softball and the gatherings at the Frog Leg. I was lucky to have spent many times on his boat going from the marina, to the lake, and up the Maumee with a crowd on board to listen to music or watch fireworks. He was a ton of fun. I also was lucky to have made music with him. He would love to harmonize together around a campfire on a conoe trip or at a fish fry, or even at the Christmas Party on "Jingle Bell Rock." I loved that man and I will cherish his memory.

Gary and I met in 9th grade at Mason. We became life-long friends and members of the 7 Hombres forever. We stayed close for 53 years taking trips to Florida, through-out California and cross country trips as well as many visits back in Erie. He has been like a brother to The Murphy Family. We were fortunate to have had him in our lives. We talked many times over the past 3 weeks of his life.

My family and I want to express our sincere condolences to the family of this remarkable man. We were fortunate to call him neighbor for over thirty years. He was a part of our family from our 4 legged friend to impromptu bomb fires and neighborhood gatherings. He stitched his way into the fabric of our lives through his generosity, compassion and friendliness. He will be forever missed and cherished. How grateful we are to have known him as a neighbor and friend.

When Gary was teaching elementary Phys. Ed. at Hurd Road, I was the second Phys Ed teacher at North Elementary.
We shared ideas together. He was always pleasant and I enjoyed our talks on improving our teaching methods.
