Obituary of Judith "Judy" Diane Greer
Judith “Judy” Diane Greer was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 25, 1951. She was one of six children born from the union of the late Rev. John Francis Greer and the late Geraldine Mae (Hall) Greer. Judy graduated from Saginaw High School in 1969 and went on to complete several college courses.
Judy worked for Amerisure Insurance company in several capacities, including community relations for 49 years, retiring in 2017. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at work and received many recognitions throughout her career for her dedicated work. Judy enjoyed to travel, first as part of her job with Amerisure, and later with her Fiancé Charles Mills. Two favorite destinations for the couple were Las Vegas, Nevada, and neighboring Arizona. Judy was very talented in artwork and created very intricate greeting cards. She also enjoyed visiting casinos both locally and in Las Vegas.
The family was first and foremost to Judy. She loved family gatherings and loved to keep in touch with all of her family members. She was, indeed the glue that held the family together. Judy was always there for people to lean on. She was an excellent listener and always willing to give advice. She was also very close and supportive of her fiancé’s family as well. Judy was an excellent singer and previously was a member of her church's group "Lost and Found." She sang at family weddings as well.
Judith “Judy” Diane Greer, age 68, of Dundee passed away at St Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Her passing is preceded by her parents; Rev. John Frances Greer, Geraldine Mae Greer, and her sister, Karen Marie Peters.
To cherish her memory, Judy, leaves her fiancé, Charles Edward Mills of Dundee, her sisters; Bonnie Jean Davenport of Saginaw, Janice Lavonne Leonard of Clearwater, Florida, Jacqueline Sue Diamond (Rob) of Lapeer, Craig Stephen Greer of Davison, her brother-in-law; Mark Peters, twelve nieces and nephews, twenty great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, as well as several relatives and friends.
Friends may gather from 10:00am-noon on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street (734) 529-3156. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at noon also at Merkle’s with John Russell officiating.
