Leslie Ferenczy passed away on Friday February 9th 2018 at his home in Milan, Michigan at the age of 82. Leslie was born August 27, 1935 in Oros, Hungary to Janos and Terez (Katona) Ferenczy. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 first arriving at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. From there Leslie moved to South Bend, Indiana and then Chicago before settling in Milan. He worked at PKA Foundry in Milan and then at the Rawsonville Ford plant for 30 years as a Machine Repairman with a specialty in tool and die making. His hobbies included owning, training and driving harness race horses resulting in many trips to the winner’s circle, and raising pigeons on his property. He enjoyed having coffee with many friends at the Milan McDonalds on a regular basis. He also was an entrepreneur whose businesses included the Coin Clean Laundry and Car Wash in Milan on Dexter Street and part ownership of Dexter Plaza. He loved spending time at home with his family and he enjoyed maintaining his house and property on Mooreville Road.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanette Ferenczy; brother Ted Ferenczy, children and their spouses Lynette Ferenczy (Mike Laquatra), Leslie Ferenczy, Ted Ferenczy, Chantel (Mark) Masten, Teresa Ferenczy (Blake Hatlem); grandchildren Samantha Aldridge, Brendon Ferenczy, Devin Ferenczy, Alexandria Hatlem, Natasha Hatlem, great-grandson Duke Aldridge, sister-in-law Shirley Markgraff and Brother-in-law, James Borso, as well as numerous relatives in Hungary. He was preceded in death by his brother Janos Ferenczy and sister Jolan.
