Obituary of Jack Charles Goodridge
Jack Charles Goodridge, age 87 , of Dundee passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Dundee, Michigan on June 8, 1930 the son of Lyle and Arlene (Fluher) Goodridge. He graduated from Dundee High School in 1950 where he lettered in track. After graduating from high school he served in the US Army as a Cpl. On December 8, 1951 he married Suzanne O’Lone at Petersburg. He worked at the Ford Motor Company plants in Monroe, Sandusky, Ohio and finally from Rawsonville where he retired in 1992. He loved hunting and fishing and boating on Lake Erie. He taught all his grandchildren to fish, play euchre and morel mushroom hunting. He also taught all of his granddaughters to drive. His survivors include his wife Suzanne; son Eric (Cindy) Goodridge of Dundee; daughters Deborah (Michael) Westbrook of Dundee and Sara Spears of Dundee; 5 grandchildren Leigh (Derek) Jorgensen, Rachel Scheich (Whitney Peters), Courtney (Matthew) Clark, Aaron (Meghan) Westbrook and Hailey Goodridge; 11 great-grandchildren Delaney, Bren, Zoe, Tatiana, Joslyn, Avery, Ryleigh, Camdyn, T.K., Emerson and Beckett; sister in law Lucy Goodridge and brother in law Gene Bishop, also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents , 3 brothers Lyle and Don and Franklin; 2 sisters Margaret Possley and Judy Bishop; his son in law Mike Spears. Friends may call on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 10 AM until memorial services at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee. Officiating will be the Rev. Jennifer Kiefer pastor of the church. Military honors will follow the church service by the Dundee Veterans Military Group. Arrangements were handled by the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156. In accordance with his wishes cremation has been held. Memorials in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or to St. John Lutheran Church.
