Obituary of Dolores E. Brunt

Dolores Eloise Brunt , age 90, of Ann Arbor formerly of Azalia and Dundee, passed away at 8:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.. She was born In El Paso, Texas July 15, 1927 the daughter of Horace and Rosalind (Canseco) Romero. Her family left Texas and moved to Mexico City in 1930. In 1941 she returned to the United States due to World War II. She attended schools in Redford and Detroit before moving to Azalia in 1943. She attended Dundee High School for 2 years before graduating from Milan High School in 1946. She married James Edwin Brunt in November 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ida. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1996. Sadly he passed away June 3, 2012. She and James took care of her parents and James’ mother. Dolores was a social person who loved people and spending time with them and her family. She is a member of the Azalia United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son James Lee (Victoria) Brunt of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren Traci Haynes, Alexa Gustafson and Christopher Brunt; seven great-grandchildren Anthony, Dylan, Cephas, Moses, Ariel, Kiyah and Oliver, brother John A. Romero of Texas and sister Rosalind Hutting of California. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jane Ellen Brunt in 1969. Friends may call on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10 AM until an 11 AM service at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) Officiating will be Rev. Christopher Butson, pastor of the Azalia United Methodist Church. In accordance with her wishes cremation has been held.
