Obituary of Richard P. Haselschwerdt

Richard (R.P.) Haselschwerdt, age 73 of Dundee, Michigan and formerly of Ypsilanti, passed away at 4:30 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born September 24, 1944 in Jackson, Michigan the son of Earl and Isabelle (Hughes) Haselschwerdt. He graduated from Michigan State University and was an avid MSU fan. He was employed in the hospitality field his entire adult life. He was a family man who loved playing golf and was especially proud of his Hole In One at Rustic Glen Golf Club in Saline. He married the former Rosanne Guttrich on August 17, 1968 at Hillsdale, Michigan. He is survived by his wife Rosanne; 2 sons Jay (Kristen) Haselschwerdt and Lee Haselschwerdt both of Dundee; 2 grandchildren Emily and Tyler; brothers Larry (Ruth) Haselschwerdt of Clark Lake, Michigan and Tom (Jan) Haselschwerdt of Lansing; sister Mary (Ted) Tschudy of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 12 2018 from 3 – 8 PM at Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Dundee United Methodist Church, corner of Sidney and Franklin Streets. Officiating will be Rev. Andy Baek, pastor of the church. In accordance with Richard’s wishes, cremation has been held. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
