Obituary of Duane R. Dean
Duane R. Dean, age 67, of Dundee passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 following a long illness. He was born in Monroe , Michigan on May 19, 1950 the son of Elmo and Vivian (Henning) Dean. He graduated from Dundee High School in 1968. He received his associates degree from Monroe County Community College. He then went to work for GM Powertrain working at Tecumseh, Adrian and finally the Toledo Plant. He started there in 1977 and retired in 2007. He was a member of the THomas Lodge 211, IOOF in Dundee. He had also worked for the Dundee Water Plant. He was a very witty guy and had a great sense of humor.He loved driving around in his truck and watching the crops all come in. He is survived by a brother Francis Dean (Claire Phillips) of Dundee, a sister Marilyn Larson of Dundee; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Felix Swehla, a brother Leslie and a sister Linda Dean, also 2 sisters in law Mary Ann Dean and Judy Dean and brother in law Carl “Butch” Larson. In accordance with his wishes cremation has been held. There will be private family services for now. A Memorial gathering in his honor will be held later in the spring. The time and place will be announced on the website of Cover Funeral Home in Dundee at www.coverfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the Dundee Firemen’s Association.
