Obituary of Janice L. Missler

Janice L. Missler, age 83 of Dundee, passed away at 3:33 A.M, Friday, October 21, 2016 at St,. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born in Dundee Township on May 20, 1933 the daughter of Angelo and Bernice (Engel) Cardinal. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1951, then married Russell E. Missler on September 20, 1952 at St John Lutheran Church in Dundee, celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2002. Russ passed away March 8, 2016. She had worked for Revco Industries in Deerfield and Owens Illinois in the personnel department. She was a former church secretary at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee; was a hot euchre card player; made baptismal towels at the church; was an avid golfer for many years playing on the Thursday Morning Ladies League at the Dundee Golf Club; travelled to Europe, Italy, England and Hawaii with Russ and some friends. Her survivors include daughters Vicky (Ron) Ziesmer of Dundee and Toni Missler-Miller and spouse Dave Walien of Wayne; grandchildren Jason Ziesmer, Ryan Ziesmer, Christine Buckley, Devon Kilbourn, Cody Rathbone, Andrea Benschoter and Dalton Walien; great-grandchildren Caitlin Ziesmer, Chelsea Ziesmer, Logan Johnson, Kameron Hagerman, Collin Hagerman and Makenna Hagerman Tristan Ziesmer and two great-grandchildren due early 2017; sisters Jean (Jim) Early of Milan, Judy (Dale) Williams of Dundee and Jackie (Terry) Dickerson of Milan . She was preceded by her husband, her parents, her daughter Jo Knitter in 2011. She will lie in state Friday, October 28, 2016 from 1 PM until 2 PM services at St. John Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jennifer Kiefer, pastor of the church. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
