Obituary of James A. Hogston

James A. Hogston, age 89, of Britton, Michigan passed away at 7:50 AM, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Magnum Health Care in Monroe. He was born in Dunleary, Kentucky May 30, 1927 the son of Jackson and Alice (Stiltner) Hogston. As a young man he joined the US Army, serving as a Tec 3 from 23 Jun 46 until 3 Mar 47. Following discharge from the military he was employed at the GM Hydramatic Plant in Ypsilanti. He married Elizabeth Blair December 22, 1951. He enjoyed gardening and home repair; read his Bible and was active in his church, Bethesda Bible Church in Ypsilanti; also spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; son David Hogston of Tecumseh; daughters Deborah Woodcock of Manitou Beach and Donya Hogston of Maumee, OH; brothers Ell (Phyllis) Hogston of Ypsilanti; Clifford Hogston of Florida; sister Zetta (Doug) Bartley; grandchildren Bobbie (Jim), James (Kari) Jason, Jamie (Richard), Jessica (Brian), Lizzie, Jimmy, and Kami; 9 great-grandchildren including Jason, Kallie, Caden, Ellie and Reagan. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dwayne, daughter Danielle Krcich and 9 other siblings. Friends may call on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Bethesda Bible Church 1800 S,. Huron Rd in Ypsilanti from 10 AM until the service at 11 AM. Officiating will be his friends and pastor, Rev. Leon Johnson and wife Ann. Interment will follow the church services at Ridgeway Cemetery in Ridgeway Twp (Ford Hwy) in Britton. Memorials may be made to the Bethesda Bible Church in his memory.
